Why preserving or even investing in your ride ?
Pictures taken with friendly permission of " Classic Cars of Ft. Myers"
We've been watching quite a few of the auto auctions lately and it started us thinking. We promote and sell quite a few Auto Accessories on our web site, all new products, of course. However, when we watch the auto auctions and what they sell (and they promote and sell a lot) most of what the public clammers for is not new at all. On the other hand, the new Accessories we promote fit into many of the older models of vintage Cars and Trucks the public is seen buying. We recognize, more and more, that what was old is now new, again.
One of the goals we strive for is to teach visitors to our site to look at their "ride" in a completely different light, a completely different point of view. When I was growing up, my father had a hard and fast rule: every four years, no matter what, the family car was traded in on a new one. Dad always bought the same make and model as the old one, the same manufacturer. Never more and never less then what he had always driven. This was done, whether the old car had a lot or a little mileage, whether it was worn or not, whether it was a "good runner" or a "clunker". The deciding factor was the four year mark. Our grandparents generation, on the other hand, lived by a different rule: Use it up, wear it out, make it last". After watching a few Auto auctions, we are learning that what our grandparents preached and what we preach are pretty much the same.
It has become, not only fun to keep our aging "rides" up and running; but as we see at these auctions, it is fast becoming profitable. We not only save ourselves the high cost of buying a new Auto every four years or so; but time and marketability prove, we're actually creating and preserving value. Take the time to research the Auto Accessories on the market, even better, do some of that research on our website, and reset your thinking about your "old ride". You may be pleasantly surprised with what you come up with.
If any of our readers do, please write us about your accomplishments. Better yet, send us some photos and let us post them on our website for all to enjoy. Thanks for visiting us, George & Grace Paech.

We were "tweaking" the contents of our website today and realized that we haven't written a new article in awhile. Too much time posting on our blog and hearing from new readers are our excuse; but a welcome one. Anyway, here goes. We are in the process of revamping our site and adding new products (be on the look out) and also trying to figure out what everyone needs to be seeing in a down economy. We decided to offer the following and hope we've hit the nail on the head. If not, we know we can depend on you to let us know. First of all, we are going through inventory on TRUCKS & AUTO ACCESSORIES and listing some really low prices on a number of PRODUCTS, some necessary and some of the ones that are just plain fun. We've are also happy to announce the addition of a few new SUPPLIERS OF VEHICLE ACCESSORIES and quite a few of their items will be listed.
In the process, we are trying, really hard, to keep our CUSTOMER'S NEEDS for their VEHICLES in mind. Having said that, how many of our readers have made plans for Mother Nature's usual summer mishaps? Come on, raise your hands!! We've given this a good bit of thought, VEHICLE-wise, and so should you. Now is the time to not only plan for the safety of your family and home; but to do some hard thinking for your RIDE as well. After all, if you have to evacuate your family, what will you be doing it in? YOU'RE RIDE!! We're not just talking gas and oil here, think about where you live and what you will need in an emergency situation, on the road. Whether your part of the country will be facing hurricanes, floods, tornadoes or wild fires you need to be prepared. To give out a few examples, do you have a FIRE EXTENQUISHER, EMERGENCY LIGHTS, GPS, TOWING EQUIPMENT and its ATTACHMENTS, BATTERY STARTER, TIE DOWNS...the list is not that long; but is that important. On our blog, we have urged our readers to sit down and make a plan and a list for emergency action and EQUIPMENT. Start now putting together a box of gear that can be easily and quickly loaded into your VEHICLE. For you MOTORCYCLISTS, the same needs apply. Well, that's it for now, nice talking with you, till the next time. George & Grace Paech.

Here one example you really can drive Vehicles a long, long time.
It is a Volvo P 1800 from 1966 and close to the 3.000.000 mile mark. When you keep your car in a good shape (cleaning, oil change on time, rebuilding of some major parts) it is possible, not only for Irv Gordon from East Patchogue New York who owns this Volvo P 1800 for more then 45 years.
With the right maintenance and little money, you also will be able to have a longer time fun on your Ride. So you see it is possible to drive vehicles for 2,3, 400.000 miles and more when you take good care of it. To invest some little money to maintain your Ride once in a wile can save you thousands of dollars to buy a new on, especially in times like now, when many people have not so much money to do so.
